NCCU Campus Network Usage Regulations
Used in off-campus network environments.
Current faculty, staff, and students of the university.
A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a private and secure network established over the public Internet using tunneling and encryption methods. The encryption technologies used are mainly of two types: one is the standard IPSec (IP Security) method, which combines encryption, authentication, key management, and digital certification to provide a high level of protection. The other is SSL VPN, which uses a browser or SSL VPN program to establish an SSL connection with the VPN gateway, encrypting data so users can access some protected information through this SSL channel. When users establish an SSL connection to NCCU's SSL VPN server from anywhere on the Internet using the SSL VPN program, they obtain the university's IP and can use campus network services as if they were on campus
